ANDREAZAPP
AZ. is a new designer womenswear label with
a truly authentic profile in fashion and print. It is inspired by German born
Andrea Zapp’s background in film and her travels as an internationally
exhibiting media artist. Her distinct photography forms the continuum for AZ.
The AZ. design studio and team is based in
Manchester, England, and samples in-house, with all collections and accessories
then being manufactured at high-quality partners across the UK. The brand has
already been retailing its current range ‘Captured around the World’ with
Selfridges and in Asia, and has established a cult following in the art world.
This year we have showcased at the Saatchi Gallery at Scoop/London Fashion Week
and at Fashion Scout/Paris Fashion Week. Often working site-specific in the
design stories, AZ.
Although women’s fashion isn’t my thing at all I found this lecture
quite interesting and really liked the designs that they have produced, it made
me realise that I can expand my graphic design work to various other areas. At
the minute I’m quite interested in shoe design with the recent popularity of
sneaker heads and release of more graphic shoes by Adidas in the NMD
collection, this opens up ideas for possible future careers
